terms of service

The ground rules. We've kept them human-readable because nobody should need a law degree to understand an agreement.

acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Ping (“Ping”, “the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, whether accessing Ping through our mobile application, website, or any other platform.

what Ping is (and isn't)

Ping is an AI companion designed to provide emotional support, conversation, and daily reflection. It is not a licensed therapist, medical professional, or crisis intervention service. While Ping is built with care and empathy, it should complement — not replace — professional mental health support when needed.

If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency service immediately. Ping is not equipped to handle emergencies.

your account

To use Ping, you must create an account with accurate, complete information. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Each account is personal — please don't share your login with others, as Ping builds a deeply personalized understanding of you that wouldn't make sense for anyone else.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service.

how you can use Ping

please do

  • Use Ping as a space for reflection and emotional processing
  • Share your thoughts, feelings, and daily experiences
  • Use voice or text — whatever feels right
  • Give us feedback so we can make Ping better

please don't

  • Use Ping to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract Ping's underlying models or algorithms
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent any restrictions
  • Use Ping in any way that could harm others
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

content & intellectual property

Everything you share with Ping remains yours. We don't claim ownership over your conversations, voice recordings, or any content you create. However, by using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and use your content solely to provide and improve your personal Ping experience.

We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our AI models and service quality. This data cannot be traced back to you personally. We will never use your identifiable conversation content for training general AI models without your explicit opt-in consent.

Ping, its logo, design, and underlying technology are the intellectual property of Ping. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

third-party services

Ping relies on trusted third-party service providers for infrastructure, AI processing, and analytics. By using Ping, you acknowledge that your data may be processed by these partners as described in our privacy policy. We carefully vet all partners to ensure they meet our standards for data handling and security.

availability & updates

We strive to keep Ping available 24/7 because we know 3 AM thoughts don't wait for business hours. However, we may occasionally need downtime for updates, maintenance, or improvements. We'll always try to give you advance notice. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

payments & subscriptions

If you subscribe to a paid plan, billing happens through your app store (Apple App Store or Google Play). You can cancel anytime from your device settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — we don't do surprise charges. Refunds are handled according to the policies of the respective app store.

limitation of liability

Ping provides conversational support, not professional advice. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We are not liable for decisions made based on conversations with Ping, any interruption or cessation of the Service, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

In moments of crisis, please reach out to a qualified professional or emergency service. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ping, its officers, directors, employees, and partners from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

ending things

You can delete your account at any time from the app settings. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, though we'll always try to communicate with you first. If your account is deleted, your data is permanently removed as described in our privacy policy.

changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Ping evolves. Significant changes will be communicated through the app, and continued use after notification constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with any changes, you can always delete your account.

governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka. We'll always try to resolve disputes through good-faith discussion first — because that's the Ping way.
